German-French Day 2022
Long live Franco-German friendship – Long live German-French friendship
…back at the Mindeltal Schools again this year!
After a hiatus due to the pandemic, Franco-German Day was able to take place again this year. French teachers and students organized the event with great enthusiasm. Many colleagues helped out on this special day.
The program was varied and had something for everyone.
To kick things off, the Q12 class explained the background of our gathering in a detailed video.
Then the 6th and 9th graders each sang a song about the important topics of tolerance and integration. To wrap things up, the 8th graders joined forces with the 8R class to take to the dance floor and perform a folk dance, the kind still practiced today in some regions of France.
Afterward, visitors were able to stroll among the various booths, where refreshments were available. The 10th graders took charge of organizing the crêpe stand. The 12th graders prepared fresh macarons. Quiche and madeleines were also on the menu. At the quiz booths, small prizes awaited the curious visitors, such as an Eiffel Tower keychain or the famous “Malabar” and “Carambar” candies, which are cult classics in France. In the art room, anyone could have their face painted in the German-French colors by the theater club. In addition, various coloring pages featuring Paris were available. The best ones were hung up in the school after the event. The beautiful France posters created by class 7g were also on display on the walls.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, the day was a great success.
We’d like to say MERCI BEAUCOUP for the time we’ve spent together and À L’ANNÉE PROCHAINE (see you next year)!
