Solnhofen Quarry
On April 25, 2022, the 7th and 8th graders took a train to Solnhofen, where they hiked to the local hobby quarry. The girls were given hammers and chisels and then got to work their way through the stone slabs to look for fossils. The haul wasn’t huge, but everyone enjoyed the trip out into nature, even if some of them did get a little winded on the short hike. :D
