CARNIVAL WEEK 2022

This year, the Student Council organized a Carnival Week/Theme Week during the week before the Carnival break. The students enthusiastically embraced the activities with great interest.

The week got off to a relaxed start, with students heading to school straight out of bed on the first day. The first theme day—all about pajamas—was a dream come true for many students.

The second day was very interesting for many when they spotted Mr. Rathmann wearing a dress. On the second day of “Gender Swap,” the student council members also sold the weekly butter pretzels and doughnuts. The big surprise, however, was hidden inside one of the doughnuts: one of the many doughnuts had a mustard filling, which Melissa from class 7g finally discovered! As a reward (or compensation?), she was given three more delicious doughnuts. 😊

"Childhood Heroes" was on Wednesday. It was really entertaining. Anyone who wasn't in the Carnival spirit by then certainly was by that day, when the craziest characters were wandering through the school. From Mickey Mouse to Hermione Granger, there was plenty to marvel at. The voting for the best costume began.

On Thursday, our school was flooded with princes and princesses. Even the biggest carnival skeptics managed to put a little crown on their heads. Who hasn’t wanted to be a princess at some point? On this day, that wish came true, at least a little bit.

The theme “Black and White” was clearly interpreted differently by everyone—from a chemistry experiment to elegant attire or simply everyday clothes. But no matter how it was received, it was a success in every way. So at 8:15 a.m., the school radio announced that Mina from class 9r had won the costume contest on Wednesday, and Ms. Armstrong had won among the teachers! And so an exciting and interesting theme week gave way to a relaxing week of vacation.
